The Biodiversity & Urban Nature Walk is a guided exploration of the surprising richness of life that exists within and around our urban community, led by experienced naturalists, ornithologists, and botanists. Participants discover native birds, butterflies, insects, medicinal plants, and small mammals that share our city spaces, developing a new appreciation for the invisible web of life that urban development must learn to protect and coexist with.
The walk is followed by an interactive session on creating wildlife-friendly spaces at home — butterfly gardens, bird feeders, native plant patches, and water stations — and a discussion on how urban planning policies can better integrate biodiversity corridors. Photography enthusiasts are especially encouraged to participate, with a best-nature-photo competition open to all participants sharing images from the walk.
